FENNVILLE HIGH SCHOOL: 0
The JV softball team came out firing on all cylinders for our opening double header against Fennville. Freshman Abby Lucas threw a 1 hitter (the one hit was a play where ball took a wicked hop otherwise it would have been gobbled up) in her first high school start. We came out and scored 13 runs in the first inning 10 runs of which came after a great hustle play by Brenna Meyer to be safe at third on a ground ball to third that she beat the third baseman to the bag to keep inning alive. The lady bulldogs had 14 hits while only striking out twice. Brenna Meyer lead the way with 3 hits, Kacie Scott, Abby Lucas and Kaylee Vist each had 2 hits with 5 other bulldogs each collecting 1 hit each. Abby Lucas collected the win from the circle with 6 strikeouts and no walks.
