Otsego traveled to Edwardsburg Monday to take on a conference opponent who took them to the wire last spring in a 5-4 match that the Bulldogs narrowly won. That storyline was not to be repeated this year, as Otsego walked away with a 5-1 victory and outshot their opponents 23-5. The goal spread wasn't larger simply because the Bulldogs only put 10 of those 23 shots on frame. Scoring 5 goals in any match usually feels great, but Otsego came away feeling like they had left a lot on the table, and look to improve their efficiency Wednesday against South Haven.

Otsego's back line played beautifully, and were calm and confident in possession. Lauren Nieboer helped her defenders play out from the back with her movement and solid ball control. Junior Captain Alexis Petty led the line for the majority of the match, and even stepped into the midfield and got herself an assist as she knocked a ball on to Cait Kitchen in the second half. Senior Captain Grace VerHage had a first half hat trick, and Kitchen put home the other two Bulldog goals on the night. Alison Diller added an assist on Kitchen's first goal to add to her well balanced point total for the season. 

Matti Rayman wasn't often called into action as Otsego sustained possession and pressed the Eddies' goal. She made 4 saves on the night, and allowed one goal from a very nice set piece that found the bottom corner around the wall.
