The Dawgs continued their goal scoring barrage with a 4-0 victory Wednesday evening over non-conference opponent Wayland Union. Tyler Cornell had another excellent match, notching two goals while splitting time between the wing and the center of midfield. His second effort dipped over the Wayland keeper from nearly 40 yards out, and sent his teammates and the crowd into a frenzy! Senior Captain Addison Atwater delivered two assists on the night, one from a set piece and one from his head. Josh Loll cracked a shot from 28 out late in the first half that left the keeper with no chance, and put his team up 2-0 at that point. Sophomore Coleton Hutchinson was the beneficiary of Atwater's short free kick, and he made no mistake in driving it past the outstretched goalkeeper. 

The back line led by Senior trio Cole Sallee, Ian McClellan, and Jerin Jameson held tight and denied counter attack opportunities all evening. Service from Ian McClellan was the trigger to many of Otsego's attacking chances in the first half. Kevin Gibson, Hunter Lucas, and Jon Reitenour all did an excellent job along the back line in big spots. 

The possession game is what stood out on Wednesday, and is what ultimately decided the match. Otsego kept the ball, showed great width, and always seemed to have supporting options given their shape and commitment to working as a unit. Midfielders worked tirelessly to win and keep the ball, backs provided the wide runs and support necessary, and forwards displayed hold-up ability as well as good link up play to keep possession and stay dangerous in the final third. Even goalkeeper Jayden Dentler got in on much of the possession when he wasn't busy making one of his 5 saves in the clean sheet victory.

Otsego travels to Hastings Monday at 5:30pm to take on the Saxons in their last match before the Holiday weekend.
